WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
All buildings to be demolished must have an independent asbestos report completed by a qualified inspector.
All buildings constructed before the year 2000 will require an independent asbestos report completed by a qualified inspector prior to any renovations or demolition.
Buildings with asbestos will be required to have an official asbestos management plan.
WHY IS THIS REQUIRED?
Asbestos is dangerous.
It is a highly toxic, naturally occurring mineral previously widely used throughout the world.
